Tomorrow four new X-Men issues come out and I'm so excited about it it's almost obscene. And very very sad. I decided to distract myself with movies, then. Well, truthfully, these are the movies that I saw two weeks ago, but, since writing movie reviews has been like pulling teeth lately, it took me some time to get down to them.

Quentin Tarantino's 'Death Proof' )

Both these movies are quality entertainment. Especially 'Death Proof' which is one hell of a ride (though I can see how some people might hate it, Tarantino-grotesque is an acquired taste). So stop dawdling and go watch them. I'm pretty sure you'll be downright delighted.

It's been too long without a Robert Rodriguez film.
True. It's been two years since his last movie. That just won't do.

I really want to see bothe Death Proof and Planet Terror, but guess I'll have to wait for the DVD. Have been hearing great things though.

Hehe, knew you'd enjoy Die Hard. I went in expecting it to suck, but it's fun. I agree about the freeway scenes, cool for action, but was way over the top.
Personally I liked the car crashing into the helicopter in the film itself. Yeah, over the top as well, but I do have a fondness for stuff like that.

I totally agree with you about Zodiac. Have to admit I didn't know anything going in to the cinema. It is a great movie, but as you say they never quite manage to finish it in a satisfying way.

Well, I hated the car/chopper scene in the trailer so much that there was just no posibillity it could work for me at all, I was so completely biased already. During the actual movie I just ground my teeth and soldiered on ( ... )

Lol, well I totally understand that.
I agree about the hiding place as well.
Then again this is a movie I probably could rip to shreds if I think about it to much, as for now it works well as an action-flick.

Fincher did a great job.

True, sometimes it really is best to turn of the thinking and just enjoy the sensory input. The only problem is that sometimes I cannot resist, even if I know better. You probably know the feeling.

In Poland, 'Planet Terror' comes out in October. I kept staring at the release date and hoped I was somehow seeing it wrong and it would turn into at least September any minute now. No such luck. The release schedule in Poland sucks.

I think you're the first person I know who (almost) liked Zodiac! :)

Really? It got very good reviews, so I thought the general opinion was rather favorable. Anyway, it's nice to be the first ;)
