"Giant Head Fight" for the win!fantasyenablerAugust 23 2007, 01:58:03 UTC
OMG...I loved this week's issue of First Class. I knew when I opened it and the first page was "Decrees from Bobbyland" that I was going to be snickering for the rest of the evening and I was right. It was so great. It might actually be my favorite issue so far.
I also liked X-Men, but I have to admit that I'm wishing the "Endangered Species" back-up wasn't taking up so much of the book right now because I'm ready to see where this storyline is going

'X-Men First Class' is fantastic. It's the most joyful comic-book I've ever seen. And, yes, when I saw 'The Decrees' on the first page, it was already clear it was gonna be one of these issues when I just can't stop grinning like an idiot

Beast has been whining about his precious ethics for about five parts
I've always adored Beast, even after what Morrison did to him, but I so totally agree with this statement. The angst portion of this tale is dragging and dragging badly. Time to move on to some revelation and allow us poor readers a chance let out the long breath we've been holding.
next month 'the Marauders' true goals emerge'
Yay!
I was too busy building Carey a mini shrine in my mind
Oh, Carey is definitely a good writer, and lord knows he looks like a god when compared to his predecessors. I'm certainly not complaining about having him on this title. In fact, in case he's somehow actually godlike and listening, he should know that I don't want him to go anywhere, for a long, long time.

You know, it might be possible that I need some more caffeine this morning. I'm in the middle of grading papers and I think I might be developing a case of ink poisoning. Because I already had a compulsive hatred of comma splices. *shudders*

I do know that I'm glorifying Carey a bit too much at the moment. But Carey and I are at the infatuation stage of our relationship right now, you know, when everything in the world seems soft and kinda hazy and you feel all squishy inside and have this absurd urges to sing in public places. It will pass. Just bear with me

I mostly understood this the same way, but I just think that for Kyle and Yost to summarize everything with 'he did all that because he loves her' is a really stupid way out. I'm sorry, I still like this book very much, I love the characters but I really can't stand this whole storyline any longer (it's over, thank Any Deity That Might Be Listening). So, I'm not exactly objective here.
And Skottie Young is amazing. Shame that he leaves so soon. But Ramos, as seen in 'X-Men 202' has a pretty good take on the kids too, so it's not that bad in the end. Could be much much worse.
Yes, do pick up 'X-Men'. It's really worth it. Actually I recommend the whole Carey's run, starting with #188 (but don't go any further if you don't have to; that stuff earlier was Peter Milligan and that was scary). And, yes, a witty Colossus. It can be done ;)
Bob is love. And it looks like he's gonna stick around now so hurrah!
Hey, where is your icon from? Because it just looks fantastic.
Well, it's not the core concept that I don't like, just the rushed, careless way it was presented. Anyway, that storyline is now over, so it can't annoy me anymore.
I love the post-Decimation Santo. And to think that earlier he had hardly any lines at all. That's what Kyle and Yost excel at. The character design. And the very thought of more Anole fills me with endless joy. As for Pixie, I'm not quite there yet, but it feels like soon I will be.
You are really gonna check out Carey's whole run? Awesome.
oh, blessed September of no work and no school I feel you there. I love Septembers. Well, truthfully I still have one exam to get through then so I do have a bit of school but I'm gonna sail through it smoothly and effortlessly (NO OTHER OPTION!) so it hardly matters.
