As Cliche a Story

"We used to call you two Benedick and Beatrice."

Marce rolled her eyes knowingly. "Emil told me about that. Said that it was the perfect Shakespearean code."

"But come on. Doesn't 'Much Ado About Nothing'' sound even a little familiar to you?" Darren said as he picked up a slice of ( Read more... )

Cute~ :) and makes me realize that I don`t remember the name of the heroine in Pride and Prejudice :D But every love story is just a little bit of cliche even if just for the falling in love part :D

The name of the heroine is Elizabeth Bennet.

Oh the entire likening real life romances to books and plays is a horrible habit Darren has. Just wait till he gets started in on "Les Miserables" and some other books....

Ohhh that sounds familiar :D In real life there is always a person like that in my experience :)

Recently the Shakespear Company theatre played Much ado about Nothing - I`m dying to see it. Their Hamlet play was incredibly good :)

You should try the Much Ado About Nothing movie with Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson. Best chemistry ever. :)

The movie was released in 1993.

Lovely stuff....though be warned that there is some slightly bad acting by Keanu Reeves and Robert Sean Leonard in that version.

Keanu Reeves in there? Then there is a very high chance that I`ve actually seen it - my mother`s a big fan :D

He plays the part of Don John. Thankfully he is only a man of few words....his acting is quite wooden in that flick.

I watched that movie because of Robert Sean Leonard. The guy is relatively okay (objectively speaking) as Claudio, but he just looks like a joke beside the expert Kenneth Branagh.

Dunno, I think I`ve only seen Kenneth Branagh in Harry Potter :? Well, I have decided! This Friday I`m watching Much Ado :D It`ll be my first-exam-week-end-treat-something :D

Enjoy. That movie is a geeky de-stresser for me. Though I have a hard time connecting Emma Thompson now in her role in Harry Potter after seeing her awesome performance as Beatrice.

HP did give her a nice costume (nothing like what imagined her to look like) so I probably wouldn`t have made the connection :D

I nearly died laughing once I did make the connection.

Oh, that version of Much Ado also features a very young Kate Beckinsale before her face lift. Shocking.

:D But there are many famous actors in there, aren`t there? :)

Gotta run, though - I have an exam in 20 mins - wish me luck! :D
