High fidelity

I worked in a record store the summer before my junior year of college, which would put that in 1987. At that time there were 9 major record labels. I don't think I can remember them all, but let me try: WEA, RCA, EMI, Capitol, Polygram, BMG, MCA, Columbia... What are you, some sort of wacky conspiracy theorist? Why, those major labels spend lots of money to discover and support new talent. If it wasn't for people like you virtually stealing money from them by buying indie-label music, or even worse, committing the dastardly sin of stealing music on the internet, they'd really be able to come up with some winners.

Y'know, it's hard to say that even as a joke without wanting to throw up.
