As I was driving to the funeral home this morning to pay my last respects to a dear friend's husband, it occurred to me: Today makes 2 years since I took Bitz on her last walk ( Read more... )

I love Bitz for three reasons.
1) You loved Bitz.
2) She sounds like a most awesome dog.
3) Color scheme. I noticed on fb that she looks like my people.

I had a soft spot for black dogs long before I learned that they are the ones least likely to be adopted.

This is a beautiful story. I have a 15-year-old schnauzer, and I just don't want to think about time. No, no I don't.

Bitz was so tough and sweet and strong, I always figured there'd be another year or two. The fact that I was so wrong, and that she went so fast, still rips at my heart.
