Gorram Facebook. It's kind of become my go-to. So much that I apparently can forget to post exciting (to me at least) news here for a few days.
Anyway, over the weekend I finally got the website for my side business,
Fete de Maison, Your At-Home Chef's Service, up and running.
And yes, if you're on Facebook, there's a page for it there as well.

Couple things:
Larger pictures, because a good part of what you are doing is the presentation.
Email forward. Depending upon how your site is hosted, it's probably not difficult to have "info@fetemaison.com" set up to forward right over to your main email account. Something @ your own domain looks more professional than a free gmail account, and is (typically) trivial to set up. Most systems allow anything sent to the domain to go to you (eg, info@, chef@, abcdefg@, etc.), which means you can invent email addresses as needed. Make something up when you buy from an online store, and you'll know if they sell your address to spammers. A prospect emails info@, and gets a reply from murphy@, and feels like you took the time to reply, personally, rather than having your assistant do it. Sort of like the old sales trick of writing your cell number or extension on the back of your business card, in front of the client - even if you always intended them to have it, they feel like they got something special.
