I first heard of Rebecca Maizel from the guest video she made on the YA Rebels and I saw she had a book coming out. So I decided to pre-order it, since I love the rebels and I really think they are helping to make people realize that the YA genre is not defined by the Twilight franchise. I pre-orded Infinite Days and it has been an interesting ride ( Read more... )

Will have to check this out, I am on the look out for any good vampire books out there (thought Twilight ruined it all) so cool.

One thing that has pissed me right off (and I will make an entry on this) is Laurell Hamilton now claiming to have made the genre!

As in she is taking credit for every new vamp book out there. I really don't know what up with that woman these days, but the vampire genre does not need anymore taint. At least Smeyer (who has now ruined vampires) never claimed something so arrogant. This is coming from a old Anita Blake fan....

I heard about that! Ugh, what a twat move. She may be a bestseller, but she isn't that well known outside of her niche. I enjoyed her early work, but now..ugh...she is just so irritating just like her protagonist.

Can't wait to see the entry!

Yeah I was pretty shocked....I know her work is old, but it's not THAT OLD. Anne Rice might have something to say about her comment. :/

She also claims she does not ready any vampire fiction (or most books in general), because she claims writers don't like to read after they become an author. OK WHAT? Umm....I am pretty sure most writers I know read loads! It's reading that gets you into writing in the first place! GGRRRRR!

End Rant.

Sorry that just really annoys me and I will post on it. I really loved her old work too, in fact I never knew it was a series.I read the first a long time ago and thought it was stand-alone. I was happy to learn it was a series, till I learnt it went down the sex-plot path.

Anita was always a bit annoying but still was awsome, but later she makes Bella Swan look sweet.
