Your Shallow Is Showing ;p
So there has been a lot of controversy over one of the latest episode of Glee 6x06-Never Been Kissed. For those of you have not seen the episode, you should go look it up on Hulu. For those who don't watch glee or care about spoilers: you have been warned.
Backstory-
Kurt Hummel is the only openly gay student at his high school and as a result he is persecuted along with all the other glee kids. In the beginning he was pulled by Finn, Puck, and the other members of the school teams. As the plot went along Finn and Puck stopped bullying, all that was left was two students specifically who picked on Kurt: Azimio Adams and Dave Karofsky.
In Never Been Kissed it is revealed that Dave get particularly enjoyment from bullying Kurt. This is accumulated in a locker room scene in which Kurt confronted Dave only to be kissed by him once and a second kiss was attempted, until he pushed away. Now the shipping gates have been opened and shit is hitting the fan.
Why? Well in light of the recent strand of gay suicides, people are concerned about the message that could be sent by having one their gay character fall for his bully. This of course ignores the fact that Dave himself, is exactly the type that could commit suicide as well and has the most to lose by being outed.
While I understand shipping and ship wars (Hello a Zutarian/Dramonie shipper here), since this is based on reality (well as real as Glee can be) I wish people would stop trying see things that don't exist.
People have been saying that Dave is a rapist and a stalker.
LULWUT!
These same people (who probably ship Edward/Bella) are really going to say that because Dave stole a kiss he's a rapist!? Do you know what rape is boys and girls? It's not that-if you want to split hairs, I'll let you call it sexual assault, but in return the next time a hot guy stops a woman from talking by laying a wet one on her: scream assault at the top of your lungs. It's only fair.
I am so sick of the double standards and lack of understanding. I have seen people defend characters like Spike (Buffy), Damen (Vampire Diaries) and Eric Northman (True Blood) to hell and beyond after they do terrible things. Yet all the girls love these sexy bad-boys and they all want them to "change" and be "redeemed."
So why not Karofsky?

I'll bet you this though: is Dave Karofsky looked like Finn or Puck, everyone would love it like it was a happy meal.
