On OTPs
A quick run down on some of my OTPs from past and current fandoms... Loosely based on the time that I was obsessing over the specific fandoms, starting with the oldest ones. (I'll probably add to this post later.)
Hmmm, I use "+" for gen and "x" for pairings, both platonic and otherwise.
1. Sephiroth x/+ Zack x/+ Cloud, Seph x/+ Cloud, Zack x/+ Cloud (Final Fantasy VII) - On going
- For Seph and Cloud, oh the mindfuck <3. For Zack and Cloud, friendship, sacrifice, and the beauty in humanity... A very special group that will always be dear to my heart and stay on top of my fandom shrine till the end of time.
- I like them gen just as well as in pairings =D (Currently in the phase where I like them gen~) (No I haven't played Crisis Core yet. DO NOT SPOIL ME, thanks!)
Zack x Aeris or Aeris x Zack (FFVII) - On going
- My happy + healing couple, the one that makes flowers bloom and birds chirp and stars go kira kira~ =D (Let's ignore what happened to them in the game.) Makes me smile just thinking of them~
2. Snape x Harry (Harry Potter) - On going
- Oh the power play. A very dynamic and complex pairing, and that was what I love about it. Got into this pairing after reading some truly awesome fanfics, and the stream of high quality fanfics was the only thing that kept this pairing alive at the time. (Haha, I just might laugh really, really hard at myself when I get around reading Book 5 to 7... Do not spoil me for Book 7 thanks.)

3. Roy x Ed (Fullmetal Alchemist) - Passed
- I got into this pairing because I mainly wanted more Ed, Ed, Ed, and no one from the FMA universe really "fit" with Ed... (I like Ed and Al strictly gen.) Nowadays I'll also take movie!Winry +/x movie!Ed, in that order~
- (And now I can't see where I found the basis for this pair before, haha. Still plenty of love for Ed though!)
2008-10-01 EDIT: Just randomly came across Sleeping with Coyotes' "Situation Normal" (RoyEd) and was reminded rather forcefully just WHY I used to adore this pairing <3 Excellent fic, highly recommended for anyone slightly familiar with FMA characters (NOOOO I can't afford to immerse in another fandom nowww!!! MUST RESIST)
4. Axel x Roxas, and maybe with occasional Roxas x Axel (Kingdom Heart 2) - On-going but in background
- I want to hug them~ They needed a happy ending! (NOMURA DID YOU HEAR THAT!!!) This pairing was special in that Roxas was the first uke in my OTP book who could also be a seme AND it would totally make sense, totally be in character. Really, if Roxas wanted to top, I'm sure Axel would let him (or Roxas could always make him). And I think Axel cared more for Roxas more than Roxas cared for him (unfortunately for Axel, especially when ultimately Roxas decided to leave TT_TT). A pairing that hurted, a lot.
- In my head-canon, Axel was a very 3D, fleshed-out character based on the game sequence (and admittedly my own filling-in-the-gap imagination). And really he was a big reason why I heart this pair so much. And that Roxas was most adorable vicious puppy ever <3 I'm not sure what I think of the new uke-ish Roxas in FM+ and up-coming Birth by Sleep's trailer, but I stand by my belief that the real Roxas from pre-KH2 bites. Hard.
5. Gokudera x Tsuna (Katekyo Hitman Reborn) - In background. 2009-02-11 EDIT: In Freezer
- One word, canon. Two words, cutest fluff. Three words, Gokudera hearts Jyuudaime <3 No need for fanfic or doujinshi. Just go read the manga!
6. Itachi x Sasuke (Naruto) - Current Obsession~ 2009-02-11 EDIT: Haha, in Freezer.
- The pairing that makes me smile and cry at the same time. Love growing exponentially.
- Reading my own old entry... "Itachi + Sasuke, not Itachi x Sasuke"!!??? Oh man, MWAHAHAHA. So, after the latest development in manga, I went back and re-read all the Naruto manga out so far again... Uchiha brothers love was so obvious, that Uchicest would not have been out of place. Why didn't I see it before??
- Well, that Sasuke had a brother complex was pretty obvious. But Itachi...
- Itachi san, it must be because you never said what was on your mind, you moron!!!!! And that I couldn't figure out why you committed the massacre back then, which totally didn't make sense given what we knew about you from Sasuke's memory!!! And you always talked in "... "!!!
- Niisan!!! Sasuke needs you!!! COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!
- Ah, Sasuke is the second uke that I think might, might , mighttttt be reversible, e.g. could be seme. Although, this would only happen if Niisan thinks it would be beneficial for Sasuke to try different things (... "things"???) (At which time Itachi would probably make Sasuke do it) (*Imagination runs wild*)(*Nose bleed*)(DON'T MIND ME.)
7. Syuusuke Fuji x Ryoma Echizen (Prince of Tennis) - Updated 10/1/08; 2009-02-11 EDIT: HAHAHA!!!! Uh, in trashcan, sorry *pat ryoma's head*
- I think rather than fanning this pairing in general, I fan two particular takes (namely that of RURU/Ultimate Power in their sole FujiRyoma doujinshi and that of Chinese fanfic writer haru) on this pairings *nod* Anyhow
- Highly recommended, "Eden" and "Seishun Supernatural Events Series" by haru at FujiRyo (or literally, FujiEchi) comm at Baidu. Written in Chinese and both AU. Both works are those really rare gems that one only dreams to find for his/her current fandom/obsession. "Eden" will never be finished since the author had long since left the fandom, but hey, there are 93 freaking chapters, and the story is more than worthy of a movie trilogy. (I don't fancy rec'ing incompleted fics, but this one... WOW. TOTALLY worth the heartache of knowing you'll never see the end.) "Seishun Supernatural Events" is -- most fortunately -- finished and is beyond delicious in a heart-achingly sweet yet bone-chilling way. One of its lines is, (something like) "Not all lovers embracing each other will be blessed", and you - really - don't find out exactly what that could mean until the very end. Yum. I bow down to the FujiRyo goodness in both splendidness.
Other pairings / groups worthy of mention...
In no particular order.
Seifer x Squall (FFVIII) - Passed, haha
- orz ... What was I thinking... I really don't know what I was thinking... I think I really liked Seifer while playing the game and wanted to see more Seifer and Squall (gen) interaction, and then I got pulled in by couple good fics (although they're all extraordinarily OOC, haha).
Albel +/x Fayt (Star Ocean 3) - Passed
- Haha, I really wanted to see Albel with someone, but there was really no good candidate. I could never see Albel as uke, Albel only had decent conversation with Fayt, but Fayt was hardly an uke. Too bad Albel and Maria spoke to each other like once in the whole game, else they might be kind of fun together.
Kratos x Anna, Yuan x Martel, Zelos x Sheena (Tales of Symphonia) - In limbo
- Haven't finish the game, so can't really talk about them. These are the ones that caught my eyes at first (*cough* someone read the whole plot before playing *cough*). (What is it with me, the Tales series, and HET pairings? Not to mention OFFICIAL het pairings.)
The Organization XIII (Kingdom Heart 2) - On going
- I heart the Organization (minus Xemnas) to no end. Hopefully they'll have some roles in Birth by Sleep in addition to 358/2 Days.
- Damn, if I'm going to put Org XIII on here, I might as well put the Turks and the crazy higher-ups from Shinra (FFVII) on here! Fell in love with the Turks when Cloud and co ran into them in a bar (?) in Wutai, Elena got all worked up, and then Reno was like, whatever, we're on vacation right now. Turks went back to drinking <3 And chibi Heidegger and chibi Scarlet are adorable. (Although nothing beats a flying -- with his sword drawn!! -- chibi polygonal Sephiroth cackling like mad~).
- Then I might as well put Team 7 (aka Team Kakashi) (Naruto)on here... Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. Oh the good old days. I'm sure Kishimoto sensei will recreate this somewhat, probably toward the end of the series. By the way, we want MORE KAKASHI SENSEI!
- Mmm, Team Taka, aka ex-Team Hebi, aka the Sasuke Fan Club (Naruto). Kishimoto sensei, please be gentle on them. They're mad fun so far, and I'll hate to see them go (as per shounen manga rule, goody-goody like Konoha's youngsters will never die, but those who are "not good but not bad either" die particularly fast...) I shall refrain from putting Team Kai on here... (Combination of Kai and Lee kills me laughing every time they show up...) Or Jiraiya +/x Tsunade (... *Hug Tsunade*). (Naruto).
