WRIST AND FINGER LIFTS:

1. Sit at computer and attempt to type.
2. 15 pound Cat Weight is draped across your forearms.
3. Cat Weight dials its effective poundage up to 139 pounds.
4. Attempt to type.
5. Cat Weight shifts and rolls onto hands, obscuring keyboard.
6. Attempt to type.
7. Heave Cat Weight onto floor.
8. Repeat.

This is one of those days when the only thing that'll fix it is a cup of coffee and an arm-and-lapful of Maine Coon who understands he's needed as a Cuddle Pillow for a good long time.

This morning: 176.2!!!

I easily fit back into my favorite size 14 jeans -- I am officially Down A Size.

(I have also gone BMI wise from "Obese" to merely "Overweight" -- bullpuckey on all of that nonsense. I look GOOD now.)

...you live somewhere sizable. It is nigh impossible to find out anything about local contractors, since we are lumped under "New York/Other" which covers every single place in Noo Yawk that isn't one of half-a-dozen or so Big Places.

If red winged blackbirds are ranked by how many red shoulder feathers they have (more = higher pecking order), then we have a Rommel-honkin' field marshal out at the finch feeder.

Had a two-plus hour meeting with Bob Loden the architect this afternoon, and now have a more concrete idea of what the addition will look like. A fair middle point between what our original designer had come up with and his personal thoughts. Doors get moved, the deck goes away (good riddance!), lots of change, but change is GOOD. Double handful of Herb Salad greens (Wegman's if I'm near one; otherwise Olivia's)
half an avocado, cubed
1 hard boiled egg, grated
2 ounces of cheese (gouda this week, through a Mouli grater)
2-3 ounces of turkey, chicken or shrimp

douse liberally with balsamic vinegar and sprinkle with Herbamare

Holds me pretty well through early afternoon.
