My left ear must be famous, since it has made it to two different sites recently!
First appearance: listening to
Arne Hodalič, a photographer and photography editor at National Geographic:
Second appearance: enjoying
Moby's concert at the Mars Festival in Ljubljana:
To me, going Out and seeing Events is something that takes planning, energy, effort and, sometimes, money, so there has to be something worthwhile to See and to Be At to make me make the move. Yet it is usually greatly worth it.
I mean, seeing photos of a seasoned photographer accompanied with the commentary is inspiring. His place of choice for the photography he was showing us had been India. According to Arne, this is the best place for the photographer, since it is easy to blend in and disappear as a person with a camera, because people simply don't mind or don't pay attention to you, even if you nearly sit in their lap and stick that lens up their nostril. To tell you the truth, though, visiting India was never my priority, and being completely irrelevant to the crowd is one extreme I find disturbing. (To be sure, I find the other extreme stressful. I will never forget how I ran from the streets of Cairo into the sanctuary of the hotel room, because I felt I get simply too much attention from the crowds).
The other Event was seeing Moby live on this festival called Mars. He was the main attraction and my reason for being there, though I didn't mind seeing and hearing other performers, too. I am not into techno, I like some electronica, but Moby has got my attention quite some time ago. When going to a concert of an artist whose work relies heavily on using and reusing digital samples of instruments and vocals, you don't really expect a violin, guitars and drums on stage, but that's what we've got. Plus a strong and great voice to support the Moby's. I loved having been there.
