Music Year in Review - 2006

Wasn't so sure I'd get it done this year, but here it is, mostly for just keeping a copy of it, as I'm sure most of you will not want to read it all.

The year in music was a little disappointing when compared to previous years, but it did offer up a lot of good albums.  I decided to rate each album this year, on a score from 1-10.  My rating scale

I do it for the Jimmy's of the world. Also, if it helps one person buy a good album, as opposed to Fergie, then the world is a slightly better place.

I'm a big radiohead fan, but I wasn't much of a fan of Thom's solo record. Some good songs on it, but can't say it meets up to radiohead standards.

We're probably in disagreement, then, on Radioheads last 3 albums. Kid A and Amnesiac, specifically. Horrible. I listened to it over and over, and even tried to convince myself I liked it for awhile, but, c'mon, it's just noise.

If those are just noise, then you've got a long ways to go on figuring out music genres. There are plenty of solid songs on those records.

I think there MAY be a couple that reach the status of "good", but that's as far as I would go.

I wanted to like it, really I did, but I just don't think it was.
