Ah, Dracula. The ballet that wasn't.

I still can't believe it. So, remember those fantastic 50th anniversary tickets we got? Turns out there was a mistake. V and I got to the opera house, found our seats, and after getting over our giddiness of being 4 rows from the stage, we started to notice that the place was a little on the empty side. It was a tiny bit odd, considering, but I thought it was a Thursday night. Maybe that was why. A man soon stepped onto the stage and began talking about the history of the Colorado Ballet, and there was a video montage of past performances. We were like, yeah, okay. This is pretty cool. Have a little thing honoring the founders and then on with show, right?

Then the parade of speakers began.

They just kept coming. And speaking. And at this point, we realize something has gone very wrong unless they were going to start late and finish at midnight. No such luck. After and hour or so of speakers the dancers performed scences from favorite productions. Very nice, but you know, not really not why we bought ticktes. There was a reception afterward with food and drink. You can bet we drank our share of champane...which helped take the edge *cough* off of some of the disapointment.

For some reason, the tickets for the 50th Anniversay Special (not special 50th anniversary tickets) were listed under the dates for Dracula...

When I got home, I couldn't sleep so I had the briliant idea to work on the house fixing plaster cracks in the wall. I have become a plastering fool, even though I still don't really know what I'm doing. It was 3:00am before I knew it. Then I got up at 6:30 so I could sand before work. I'm kinda running on caffeine, at the moment.

rl, i am a dork, dracula, halloween
