Remember those joyful days of near-parity with the US$ when books bought on Amazon were so very, very cheap? *sighs wistfully*
If you are in Austria, I can highly recommend the Achensee (lake up a mountain). Sangerin and I spent last New Year's Eve there and even though I was an absolute mess grieving my step-father who'd died just before Christmas, I remember how beautiful it was. Sangerin also tells me that Salzburg was lovely - but I spent our 24 hours there in my room sobbing. Definitely planning to go back sometime when I'm not in full-on mourning mode.

I have a feeling Austria is gonna be one of the countries where we don't see much but stop and break up the train ride for a day or so. Considering it'll be between Prague (the place she can't wait for) and Rome (the place i'm looking forward to) it could be rushed over. But thanks for the tips! Will start looking into them more.
