'Cos the man was bisexual!
He thought Cesario was a nickname and that two girls were hooking up.
Well, they pretty much are! It's a massively homoerotic play!
the younger ones in particular were completely shocked that Shakespeare wrote sexual innuendos and puns
A common response for centuries - hence the popularity of Lamb's Tales from Shakespeare with all the lines that could bring a blush to the maiden cheek removed.
Well Done on the HD, BTW.

Hell half of this class still use "that's gay" when they don't like something and the problems we've had in the Education lessons about teen sexuality mean you can't point out that stuff without getting into an argument.
Still trying to knock some sense into their heads. (We had to skip the Donne poem to Sappho because of time which dissapointed me cause i was planning on having lots of fun playing with their heads with that one).
Thanks!

The "that's gay" thing really annoys me. By the end of my time in college the little dears who did it had moved to: "That's so gay - oh, sorry A." They recognised that I found it offensive, but couldn't quite get rid of it as an immediate exclamation.
And my seven-year-old nephew has apparently picked up from the school playground that gay=bad fighter. I'm kind of okay with that: gay people are lovers rather than fighters!
