Well, it's going on a new month and a new year and I'm STILL jobless. I put in some elbow grease today cleaning the car and wrapping belated Christmas presents, so I don't feel quite so uneasy about my living situation.
Anyway...
I just wanted to put a thought out there that I was thinking about again tonight. Some people are squicked beyond belief at Real Person Fiction (RPF), and not just Real Person Slash (RPS). I think it's safe to say the majority of RPF is RPS, though the terms are not necessarily synonyms. It saddens me that I can't seem to find too many RPF stories that aren't about sex in general.
My thought actually was my reasoning - maybe rationalizing - as to why I like RPF, which is that, yes, they're real people. However, if you don't really know them, if you only know a few things about their personalities and their biographies, and you've only seen them on TV or read about them in a magazine or a book, then aren't they - for all intents and purposes - as good as fictional? And just as potentially interesting in a fill-in-the-blank - more or less depending on your taste - kind of way?
