Cat rescue places stink, too

Sorry to make with the depressing posts here... but I'm hoping that the wide distro on LJ will help me find an alternative. I have called five cat rescue places this morning, and am getting the same unpleasant response

Have you contacted Lost Dog Rescue? That's where I got Safari from and the people seem really nice. They may be able to give you advice, if you haven't contacted them already...
