100 Bits of Happiness 82/100

There's this really good honey, which they've often had at a closeout store. I put it in Madre's stocking for three Christmases in a row, even when I had to pay full price (which she would be very unhappy if she knew). I've only gotten a few tastes of it because I don't live with her and I've rarely been at her apartment in the last three years due ( Read more... )

Honey on toast is the best!
(I think I had a sample package of this (or a different kind of the same brand) once and it was awesome, but yeah, they're really expensive, so I never actually bought some after I finished it.)

The one store here has it for about half the price of the grocery store, and for the quality it's an amazing deal. I probably should have bought all the jars they had! This is the raw, creamy rather than drippy stuff, so definitely perfect for toast.

Oh, half the price is indeed great. (But maybe not having bought an entire storage makes it feel a bit more "special", at least. ;D)
Hmm, yes, creamy is made for toast! I mostly have the drippy kind only to put in hot milk or for the rare occations I need if for baking or cooking.

If I bought more jars I would totally hide them around the apartment. My memory is so bad that I'll completely forget and then it will be an amazing surprise when I come across a jar in three months. :)

Honey on toast is perfection. But then again, so is baklava. I'd say you can't go wrong with you eat it plain or make something with it. :)

Sadly, I don't think it would work well for baklava, it's the raw, super thick creamy type of honey, rather than the drippy sort. Though, they had another type from the same brand and it would be probably be a mistake not to go buy more...

Oh, "Breitsamer Honig"! I wasn't aware that the brand exists outside of Germany ...

(I don't have ideas for recipes though. I personally like good honey with baguette or croissant rather than toast, but that's personal taste.)

It's definitely been in my grocery store (which isn't much of a fancy one) for the last three years.

Ha, well, bread of any kind is basically what I mean. Though definitely homemade rather than storebought. I am no longer allowed to buy croissants more than one at a time (which you can't do around here) because I have absolutely no willpower and will eat every single one.

It's like super honey. Creamy and a concentrated honey flavor but very bright and a little citrusy.
