Did a small friends cut, just because I don't think we were really going to become friends due to journals being in different places or just not talking or blah blah blah. I also added too many people in the last meme because I lost the ability to say no. I know I have far fewer friends than most people still on LJ, but I do like to feel I'm ( Read more... )

It's such a good feeling. Since switching to this new account, I noticed all the inactive folks I had on my old account.

Possibly stupidly I still don't remove loads of years and years inactive people, JUST in case they come back.

That did actually happen last year, and I reconnected with a good friend from high school, so you never know.

True, and mostly I think people don't care THAT much unless you're actually chatty with them, but it's hard for me to not be angsty over it.

I have times in my life that I'm not able to keep up with my flist, so it's understandable that if there are too many friends on your flist that it can get overwhelming at times.

*hugs*

You guys are so sweet! I keep panicking and going "Oh god, did I accidentally cut this person and that's why they're commenting?!"

I never expected consoling for me having to do a friends cut. Thank you/

I'm happy that you kept me because I'm planning my come-back today.

Yea! And yeah, that's part of what makes cuts hard for me I think. It's not like I'm cutting everyone I don't really talk to, just the people I'm pretty sure I'll never really talk to.

Then it's like there's nothing to even worry or feel bad about. :)

Yeah, friending memes are a bit of a calculated risk. It's nice to be able to friend people who seem cool, but it's kind of gauche to do so without making your own comment, and it's also kind of rude to not friend people who ask to be friends by replying to your comment.

Don't feel bad about doing a cut, though. I've also had to unfriend one or two people since the last meme I did. Sometimes people just aren't friend-compatible, or the timing is wrong, or any number of things.

Yeah, it's hard to balance with friending memes, especially when new ones pop up so quickly and you never know when someone you've added will suddenly go inactive (the heartbreak when someone you feel you could be best friends with goes inactive - UGH).

Now I'm really going to focus on commenting and such at least. It's easier to do that when you don't feel like you're scrolling past a lot of entries you're not really interested in or have had a problem with.
