Re: Caged Bird - How did I work in a bookstore when she died and not realize she was dead? I must have forgotten. Lord knows we would have made a display (or a thousand of them). Wtf me. I REALLY need to read that damn book though. It's been on my list for an inexcusable amount of time, but then, what else is new.
Re: Cahill - That makes me sad. I really enjoyed How the Irish Saved Civilization. Oh well.
RE: Saga - I CAN'T FORGIVE MYSELF FOR NOT GETTING INTO THIS SERIES YET!
Cahill's Islamophobic shit is enough that I'm not picking up anything else by him. Period. I have no time for that shit when there are so many great books by great authors that I'll never be able to read them all. I liked How the Irish Saved Civilization, though at the same time it hasn't stuck with me in any way.
If I were you, I'd stay away from Saga until it's finished, or at least this main story is finished. The issues end pretty abruptly and the pacing is such that five months after one volume I'm struggling to remember what's going on when it comes up two volumes later. I so wish I'd waited to start because it is very compulsive reading. Different if you're getting the individual issues, of course, but I don't have great book patience.
