oh, i also forgot to say there was a nice bbq at 713. i had made a large quantity of pasta salad (chinese eggplant, onions, garlic, olive oil, tomatoes salt, pepper, white vinegar , powdered ginger and basil) that morning, so i brought it over. and left it there. it didn't turn out that great. i think something funky happened with the vinegar or ( Read more... )

Thanks for the bbqing tip! ;D That pasta salad sounds reallly good. Vinegar IS a tricky thing though :(

Oh yeah, and whenever I mess up in recipies like those, usually a little peanut butter and/or ketchup helps.. it's weird but always true in my experiences ;)

yeah, the peanut butter is a good one, but ketchup?? ooh, intrigue abounds.

i'm also a fan of a little tahini in sauces. even if the flavor doesn't end up strong (esp if, actually), it is a nice and smooth addition.
