There was a secondary reason Mab refused to speak poorly of Andy. Despite the fact of never having met the woman face to face, she loathed her. Andy had made both she and Bobby doubt the foundation of their relationship unnecessarily. Andy was using her own children as tools to hurt Bobby without regard for how it hurt them. It was enraging. Andy was the reason two of Bobby’s children wouldn’t be there at the wedding. She was an undeniable factor in Bobby’s actions last Sunday.
Mab despised Andy with a strength normally reserved for child abusers and rapists. Had Andy been any other woman, she would have been dead a month ago. But she was the mother of two little girls who were precious to Mab and Bobby wouldn’t stand for it. There were so many different ways she had considered making Andy’s life a little more hellish. Freezing bank accounts, bad luck spells, putting pressure on her uncle and his people, breaking her fucking neck.
Each option she could come up with just made things worse for the girls. So it sat there, that silent hate. She bore it with the knowledge that if Bobby lost the custody battle, she would sue Andy for visitation rights for the triplets, Annika, and Brennan. Let Andy tell Grace and, later, Izzy that she was refusing to let them see their siblings. Or let her sit through those mutually monitored play sessions with Mab and her children, hating it. It would serve the bitch right.
