Judgment, A Story in Six Scenes
I. II. III. IV.
V. VI. “Dorian, I want one thousand of my best servicemen ready to deploy in two hours.”
“Your highness, do you not think this requires slightly more a strategic response?”
“Tell the armory to make sure they are armed to the teeth. Swords and semiautomatics for those who can be trusted with them. And the teeth as well, if you can manage to scrap together enough of the older lines.”
“Perhaps, Frozen One, we can simply punish the ones who made the attack, rather than full scale retribution?”
“And make martyrs of them? Don’t be absurd, Dorian. They wanted to destroy our entire world because they thought the Fae were monsters. It is simply time for them to learn they had absolutely no idea how right they were. And when I say I want a thousand of my best servicemen, let us be clear, I don’t mean my soldiers with morals and standards. I mean the ones that would gladly kill their nearest and most beloved and thank me afterwards for the opportunity to act in my service.”
“Very well, my queen.”
“There is one last thing, Dorian. I want my best armor adjusted to my current proportions. I will be leading the foray personally. And if you think of breathing one word of this to my husband, I will personally make an eunuch of you.”
