New years wrap up meme and resolutions

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
I smoked.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I kept them all, even wearing costumes out in public.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Sandi (one of my best freinds) gave birth to her second born, a son named Calvin.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Dan Walker, he was about 4 years younger than me, went to the same church. We weren't close, close but, I knew him, and was very surprised when he left earth early like that. Looking forward to seeing him again, though.
5. What countries did you visit?
Um this one and maybe you can count Boulder as another country.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I don't think any particular date will remain in my memory, I know a few events will. Like Dan's memorial, going to NDK and dragging a reluctant Susan with me, getting promoted, christmas with Jessica and Daniel and being able to hear Jessica laugh again.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I was promoted to full time at work.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Getting too stressed out during christmas
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing major
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The complete fairytale theatre collection. It really comes in handy babysitting.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My sister. It's really been the first time since she went away to Utah that it feels like I have her home. She's getting her dreams and her joy back.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed.
I'm not saying anything here because she might see it and get upset with me. But one of the people I love has become lost, and I don't know how to help her without hurting her.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills. Sallie Mae is the devil.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
An Oster blender. I know it sounds cheesy but, it's got all metal parts and a glass pitcher.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Hold On by KT Tunstall it's addicting. I still don't have the cd, I think dad is going to buy it for me for my birthday.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i) Happier or sadder? Happier (I like who I am now)
ii) Thinner or fatter? Thinner (skinnier than my sister)
iii) Richer or poorer? Richer (because I'm less in debt)
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

sat around staring in to space.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I don't know the last one was fantastic and the next one is a ways off.

No

I don't do that sort of thing
24. What was your favourite TV program?
Dexter (I don't get showtime but I have season 1 and 2 on dvd)
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope
26. What was the best book you read?
The Christmas Sweater by Glen Beck. I was going to say Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood but The Christmas Sweater is better.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I discovered that although a lot of the Beatles music gives me the creeps for no reason, I actually like a lot of their songs.
28. What did you want and get?
ha ha the Ironman movie.
29. What did you want and not get?
a winning lottery ticket. Oh well guess I'll have to do things the hard way.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Expelled: No intellegence allowed it takes a lot of guts to make a documentary like that, and not appologize about it.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 27, and I'm not sure what I did, I celebrated it over a period of weeks instead of on one day.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I can't think of anything, except for some of my freinds to be happier.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Um... lots of black. Black with skulls for my days off, and black with business casual tops for my days at work.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Um....Chris Dane Owens. Now that I said it I'm going to suffer eons of humilliation.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The amount of money spent on campaigns.

All my Northwest peeps. I miss you all. *tears*
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Christina at work. She is odd but odd just like Nikki and me. And now there are the three of us. Three is a good number.

It's okay to be a little selfish
