Assuming this is a chain grocery store, I'm kind of amazed that there's that much autonomy in terms of what is ordered and served. Our stores seem so... regimented.
Do you guys ever make that salad (some people call it ambrosia) with mini marshmallows, tangerine and pineapple pieces in a sour cream and coconut base? HCD got turned on to it when we were Florida but the Publix people told him they only have it for a few weeks around thanksgiving and at no other time. I kind of assumed it came packaged and they weren't making it in the store, but reading your stuff maybe I'm wrong?
Our chain still manually orders product through the Telzon so whoever does it could easily do a similar clusterf*ck. My previous two employers were on computer based ordering so the managers were basically glorified stock people.
If something like this had happened in my store the director would've been right on the manager's ass fur not ordering. S/he would've been written up too, if not outright fired.
how the hell does a store stay in business when they're willing to ruin any source of sales on a bet! jeez. glad the MOD was ok with you making up what you could.
