2. No, this community was not randomly given up. He/She was deemed to have abandoned the community and new maintiners were assigned.

You mean, like LJ allowed new mods to be assigned? How does this work? I am in a number of communities with abandoned mods that are just a wreck.

Yes. LJ assigned a new mod. Please address questions on how the process works to the LJ staff.

I just want to thank the new mods. You are sorely needed and I, for one, appreciate you a LOT already.

I tried to contact LJ Abuse months ago and inform them of how the previous mods had abandoned the community, but LJ Abuse brushed me off (as per usual). Finally, they listened to SOMEBODY :)! Now, mac_cosmetics will feel so much safer... I won't be afraid of swaplifters and the like :).

Anyway... I know tornwhiteflag already said that you two have possible future assistant moderators in mind, for if/when you need them. However, I just wanted to offer my services and hope that you will consider me. I have experience and will do the job excellently.

Thank you for your time!

Hi, I had a quick question about sales posts, are they fixed prices or are auction style posts still allowed like before? I just wanted to know before I posted. Thanks!

Auction style posts will continue to be allowed. However, I'll go ahead and point out that posts "reminding" members about the auction will be treated as an additional sale/swap/advertising post, and are subject to the weekly limit.

Thanks, I'll remember that.

I have tried to post this morning but noticed the pencil icon is gone for some reason, I have been a member here for quite some time and have not had a problem previously with posting, can you explain why? thank you

your posting access was removed due to the fact that you are a listed and known swaplifter, under the user name macaddictgirl. you may still view the community and participate in commenting to posts.

I am not a swaplifter, i shipped late last summer in a sale in the macsaleswap community. Everyone rec'd their items and i followed up with everyone and also posted several times in the mac_cosmetics community to be sure everyone was happy. I have been a member of mac_cosmetics for over two years, I like to post other things not just sales and I would like my posting acess back if possible.

6. Advertising is ok as long as you are selling MAC related items. Posts advertising anything else will be treated as off-topic posts, this includes ads for other communities, unless permission is given by the mod ahead of time. Sale/Swap/ISO posts are limited to 1 post per WEEK, and feedback links must be included in sale/swap posts. Makeup Alley (MUA) is where most members share feedback. Comments for negotiations of buying items should only take place in 1 post.

can you maybe clarify what this rule means? it seems quite obvious to me, but it does not seem like that to others. to me, it means swap and in search of posts are handled the same way as sale posts. which means, one per week. if that's how it is, then we have one member who i've seen post at least 2-3 times a week about swapping. i confronted her about it, where she told me her last sale was last sunday. i think she was forgetting inbetween that swap and in search of posts count as the same thing.

thanks.

I'm sorry that I took so long to respond. It sounds like you've got the rules exactly right. I thought they were pretty darn clear, but maybe people need to re-read them. If you see a post that you think I might be missing, you can email the link to my gmail account or post it here. Comments here are screened, so I can see them before deciding whether or not the public can see them.
