bad connection? try replugging them in (but i assume you've already tried this) and check to see if the cord from the speaker to your comp is connected right o_o like sometimes it loosens
if they worked before then its prolly not the drivers..
I assume you have more than one computer in your house; try them out on the other machines if you haven't already. If you have other speakers, try those on your machine.
Do the speakers have an idicator light, and if so, what does it say?
The speakers probably draw power from a source other than your machine- almost all do. What outlet are they plugged into, and is it the same as your computer.
Have their been any power outages/surges lately?
Do you onl have one program that would be making noise, and if so, try it with other programs.
Check system settings, of course- your volume level might have gotten turned way down by accident.
