Logicaly...I don't know. At least not how it started. I can't even remember when it did...I remember being 4 or 5 and already obsessed. Now I can say- it's a skill I have. They are honest friends the way a cat or dog is, but unlike a cat or dog they have the power to kill you, easily...and don't. And I like things to function. I like my horses best when I can go and do everyday tasks with them. I can carry all my gear on a trail, go feed the back pasture, haul wood to the burn pile...suddenly it goes from being work, alone, to being Life, with a horse.

And.....I am far from fearless. I just bare my teeth, close my eyes, and run headlong into it. I'm too stubbrn to give up even when I should.

I guess thats another thing...horses have made me a better me. An unrestrained temper around a horse gets you no where but injured. Consistancy, reliability, honesty...get you everywhere.
