I grew up with lots of pets, and my mom would always take in sick, injured or abandoned animals and try to nurse them back to health (not just pets, but wild animals.. like little birds or squirrels that fell out of the nest, that sort of thing).
So when I think of people abandoning their animals or, worse yet, locking them up to die it just pisses me off so much. If these are families... what are they telling the kids? I think if we'd had to move and my parents had tried abandoning our animals my sister and I would've flipped out. :(
