Sad when a good song gets tainted

I once had someone that used to be special to me tell me this song reminded them of me. Sad thing is I liked the song once and now I really just can't hear it anymore

yeah pretty sad when someone tells you that about a song like that and then you find out it's not true. Kind of just kills any enjoyment you'll ever get out of it again.
