It is quite unusual for me to get really worked up by the Blair Government. With one hand they tear down civil liberties, traditions, the armed forces, the pensions scheme etc and I merily go on my way without being overly concerned. Drag hunting is a really viable alternative. It would mean not killing the hounds or the horses, and would mean no unemployment...all of the traditions would be maintained. The only thing that is altered is that the poor old fox doesn't get slaughtered. I have seen hunts for myself (having followed the Berkeley/Beaufort hunt at the age of 9) and I KNOW how much fun riding in the countryside is. But killing a fox is NOT fun. Why not continue with the fun bit, and get rid of the goriness ( ... )
