Thanks for the good thoughts. As for things to do about it, my son has mild autism and while I could get tough and tell them they are own their own, the plain fact is that he can't deal with life that way, and the consequences would be a meltdown he has no capacity to manage, so... you just cope as best you can. (sigh)
