I've been a Star Trek fan since forever, too. It (actually TNG) was kind of the first TV series I actually watched by myself as a kid (meaning: not watching it with my mother or grandparents, but because I myself became interested in it) - the rest is history. Really, it's all Star Trek's fault.

I only recently re-discovered Star Trek, so to speak, after exploring other series for a few years (especially everything by Joss Whedon, but that's another story), first by totally immersing myself into DS9 for some reason and then by watching and re-watching (and re-watching) the new movie.

I agree with you, the whole Nero thing was ... yeah, I guess "meh" is the right expression for it, but the rest was so totally awesome that it didn't really matter. I don't watch Star Trek to see first-class villains anyway, but first-class heroes ;)

It's good to learn a little bit more about you - the person behind the story I'm obsessing over so to speak. But this is, again, threatening to turn into one of my epic comments, so I'll stop now ...
