don't know if you'll get this in time but...

Join me at Nina's Cafe on Wednesday, January 2, at 7pm, for a reading of poetry by Robert Bly, Thomas Lux, Marvin Bell, and Larissa Szporluk--all of whom have poems in the inaugural edition of the new poetry journal KNOCKOUT. One of the founding editors of KNOCKOUT, Brett Ortler, has just relocated to the Twin Cities from Washington State, and will share his vision for this bold new magazine. Come meet Brett and learn what he looks for in poetry, by hearing him read selections from the magazine with me; we'll ask him how the risk venture occurred to him, and what he plans to do with issues 2 and 3; and we'll welcome him properly to the Twin Cities community.

Join us for a pu pu platter of poets ... and a casual conversation about publishing in contemporary America. Should be fun.
