Machi stares out her bedroom window. She enjoys the view in silence that she knew was all too short. With everything that is happening in her life and the events that occurred, things have become difficult. School wasn’t any different from what it usually was. All the injuries she obtain from ‘the incident’, as she now refers to that experience

I will be careful. At least, I will more careful than I was at the Sohma main house. It was careless of me to let my guard down like that.

I feel stupid for being careless. I am not dead and that is the important thing.

Don't feel stupid. You're human. We all let our guard down and we pay for it. But it is surviving our carelessness that we should celebrate. That is the most important thing.

I should have known better though! Akito has a god complex and that should have been my first clue not to let my guard down. I am worried about the others though. They are still troubled by Akito's actions.

I'm sure it was. I would be troubled as well and not be taking it very well.

I am not going let that happen again. Too many people suffered because of that. I will not let them suffer because of what I didn't do.
