So it’s kind of dark, huh?

… It’s a little scary.
First I was late to work ‘cause I slept in, and then I had to walk home all by myself. I mean, I do that all the time, but it’s different now. There’s just something about the sun not rising at all that gives me a chill. I don’t like this, guys. Is it gonna come back up tomorrow, or are we ( Read more... )

I wouldn't count on it being like this forever. Nothing has happened to give us reason to think that. It's only been a awhile now, Rikku, really.
Look at things more logically and they will frighten you less.

But Vexen! The. Sun. Is. Gone! That isn’t something logical that just happens every day! The sun doesn’t just take a holiday whenever it feels like it. It scares me because if the sun is gone, then what’s going to be next? But I’ll try, you know, to be logical. Even if I don’t think it’s going to help much…

I understand that Rikku, but getting flustered and what have you isn't going to make it come back any sooner. All I'm saying is to look at there being a real and solid cause for it instead of it being something mystical and scary. *stretches and winces*
Even if it is beyond our understanding, there *is* a reasonable explanation for it.

I -know- Vexen, but that doesn’t make it any brighter outside. I’m not good at coming up with real causes and stuff. I couldn’t even start to try and explain why something like this happened. You’re the scientist. I think I’ll leave the explanation stuff up to you. Until then, I’d like to just curl up in my apartment and wish it was back. ‘Cause that’s about all I can do.

It's comforting to know that not all people are embracing this darkness. I wouldn't have been able to say that prior to this entry, considering all the entries akin to "What's wrong with the sun missing? It's better, etc."

People actually like this? Well then they should go live in The World That Never Was! The sun isn’t supposed to just go away. A lot depends on it here! So I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one that isn’t thrilled about it… you aren’t, right?

Do I know you? I don’t think I’ve ever talked to you before now. I’m Rikku! It’s nice to meet you!

Of course not. The sun provides light for the world, spiritually and physically. I can't imagine existence without it--it is a bit of stretch wandering around Treno without the safety of seeing everything before me.

You haven't. My name is Baralai. Pleased to meet you, Rikku

Yes! See, you’re sane! You know that we need the sun! I agree with you totally! And here in Alexandria we’re practically running over each other. There’s only so much street lights can do. And I don’t want to get mugged or something.

Baralai… Baralai… Where have I heard that name before?

OH! YOU’RE THE DESK GUY! THE ONE VEXEN HAS A CRUSH ON! …er… I mean… It’s nice to meet you too?

(( ooc: Boxes got too long for my liking. x3 ))

It was only an offer. I don't like thinking about young women in your position. The Heartless... you know, they could get you. But, ah, they're only old wive's tales, I suppose. I'll trust you then to take care of yourself. I'm glad you're so independent. The less likely you'd fall into their hands...

I think you misunderstood me. It is merely a saying, I was not really saying you love him. You can't know unless you ask, right? That's what you're telling me.

Later means never, to clarify.

He's a very... cool guy. (That feels strange to say.) And he will never desert you, I think. He is a dependable friend.
