[IC Information]
Character Name: Rikku
Series: FFX-2
Gender: Female
Age: 17 18
Birthday: October 17
Species: Human.
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Appearance: Rikku is a fairly attractive person: she is athletic and slender, with golden skin and yellow-blonde hair she likes to keep up in what appears to be hundreds of braids. Some of these braids have beads on the ends, and she keeps them all tied up with a blue bandanna; let down, the braids reach her waist, and unbraided, her hair will reach her knees.

Her face is slightly Asian in composition, with a flatter nose, small lips, and a round face. Her eyes are almond-shaped and very distinctive: a vibrant, toxic green with swirls in them, identifying her as an Al-Bhed woman. She seems to always be smiling or laughing or talking, and it is very difficult for Rikku to hide her emotions with such an expressive face.

She's not the tallest of girls, most likely around 5'2"-5'4" at the very maximum; however, her compact build contributes to her easy ability to worm her way around tight areas, and it is almost like Rikku is made of the rubber the way she can contort her body at times. She is small-breasted, though not bothered much by that it seems, especially with the way she parades her body. Her stomach is flat and toned, and she has fairly long legs for her height.

Rikku does not like to be hampered by clothing, so she tends to wear as little of it as possible. Upon arrival to Manhattan, she would be wearing her favorite outfit: a yellow bikini with a green miniskirt, boots and intricate arm-warmers, and lastly her scarf.

Personality: Rikku is the typical sidekick in some ways: in order to support her much more serious cousin, Yuna, Rikku provides energy, optimism, and an endlessly upbeat attitude. It appears very little can get Rikku down, and even when something gets in her way, she's more likely to force it out of her path than cry about it and worry and whimper.

However, despite her somewhat simplistic first impression, Rikku is cunning; after all, she is a thief. She is a trickster and depends on using her appearance and charisma to get what she wants; all in all, acting a tease. Rikku is also skilled at thinking up plans when pushed to do so, and she can be quite serious when the need really arises.

More importantly, Rikku is deeply compassionate and loyal. What doesn't matter to Rikku is what a person is or does; what matters is who they are to her. Once someone is Rikku's friend, she finds it very difficult to turn her back on them if she is called to do so, and she puts her friends above her own needs at all times. The clearest example of this is Rikku's utter devotion to her cousin Yuna, and how, despite just meeting her when she was 15, Rikku thinks of her as her closest friend upon immediate introduction and would willingly give herself up for her; another example would be, despite Paine's cold remarks and general apathy to Rikku, Rikku continues on persisting on being Paine's friend (though, actually, this just might be an example of her being clearly stubborn...).

Abilities: Rikku's strength lies in her agility, flexibility, and stealth. She's quite skilled at pickpocketing and opening locks; however, since this is a world outside of her usual one, she's not used to the locks within Manhattan and would probably have trouble picking them at first. Rikku is also vastly skilled in a number of fighting styles (my weak attempt at tying in dress spheres), but she would have severe trouble switching from her different... jobs, for lack of a better word, and the likelihood of being to use certain abilities outside of having that dressphere equipped would be highly-difficult.

However, Rikku's knowledge of mixing together things (o! alchemy, how we love thee) would still reside, considering it's not so much a physical gift as it is a mental one.

I would also take this time to assume that Rikku, though able to cast magic, would only be able to cast about one per day, especially considering she's not much of a magic-oriented person.

Weaknesses: Superficially, Rikku is not the strongest physically, and she depends on her speed to get her what she needs in battle. If she is slowed down, she becomes a lesser foe, and it would be pretty easy to toss her upside. She is not skilled with magic either, so she is limited in that way too.

In addition, Rikku has a huge fear of thunder and lightning; so much that she is reduced to tears and a fetal position when she hears and sees it.

Rikku's determination to save her friends and put them first, no matter the costs, can get her into a tricky place sometimes. In example, Rikku shows great hesitation when it comes to Yuna's initial pilgrimage as a summoner, and how her cousin must sacrifice herself--she discloses her feelings to Tidus and looks to him for comfort. To be truthful, she would do anything for Yuna, including willingly forsaking any chance of her own happiness for Yuna.

Rikku can also be too silly at times, inappropriately so, and a bit slow to catch up on things (though she is a very bright girl). She is fiercely expressive as well, and it takes a bit more control to keep her feelings under tabs.

Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider.

History: Back in her lovely world of Spira, Rikku grew up with her brother (cleverly named 'Brother') and her father Cid, the leader of the Al-Bhed. It was because they were Al-Bhed that the family and their people were forced to travel around, suffering from severe persecution from much of the world due to the overwhelming religion which called upon a worship of a being called Yevon and an overt prejudice towards the Al-Bhed. Because of this, Rikku is usually hesitant when it comes to disclosing her heritage. Rikku, unfortunately, never knew her mother well; she died in a terrible machina accident, and Rikku was never given the details.

Flash-forward to when she's 15, and despite being an Al-Bhed, Rikku finds herself as one of the Guardians to her cousin, Yuna. Without spoiling the entire game, it's easy to say that Rikku faces her fair share of character growth, dealing with the prejudice of another character and her want to stop Yuna from completing her journey. Throw in a few undead villains, the falling apart of the primary religion in the world, the fact that one of her best friends never actually existed, and bam, you get the adventure of a lifetime. Rikku survives to tell the tale and is older because of it.

Throughout the next two years, Rikku did a few things, such as searching the world over for precious treasures to hawk and getting over her fear of thunder. But then she gets wrapped up in another story (because hey, it looks like a friend of hers is imprisoned and she's not the type to take things lying down like that). This time, though, there's big, angry machines, political factions, some corruption on the old government's part, and possessed people, which gives her second go at saving the world a bit of a different flavor.

Shortly after that, however (it seems Rikku never gets a break), she went to sleep one night on the Celsius, her precious airship, and woke up in Manhattan: not only a different place, but a different world as well. During her time in Manhattan, she made many friends and began to settle down. Despite herself, Rikku liked her new lifestyle: free from obligation and the stress of her original life; it almost seemed like a game to survive each day and not get munched on by Big Mommy. However, the dream would not last; as quickly as she came, Rikku woke up and she was no longer in the apartment she shared with Tidus.

She was, amazingly, back on the Celsius.

Rather despondent about the whole ordeal, Rikku adjusted back to her original life, though the memories of Manhattan lay thick in her heart. She was upset, naturally: memories were just memories, after all; clinging to them did nothing. A week of trying to fight the blues and wishing to go back every night (not to mention Brother's constant nagging) had its effects. Rikku went to go take her afternoon nap--and to her secret joy, found herself not in Spira when she woke up.
