It's much easier to stand-up for someone else. Self-sacrifice is a more comfortable space than self-defense. But when you stand up for yourself, you become alchemized: a better shield to protect others. And realizing our collective bravery is tied up in fighting where we stand. Inevitably for others; for ourselves.
I keep forgetting livejournal exists. Maybe because I don't write anymore? 115 pages of graduate thesis sucked all the words out of me.
