I have always pretended to be interested in the study of politics. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be like my sister Katherine and Katherine liked poli sci and therefore so did I. The events of September 11 hit me like a brick. I found out in Mr. Hay's (I think) english class, first period after lunch. I thought the students were joking. THey were not. I walked home, and when I got there, I stopped in the kitchen doorway. My mother was at the sink, and turned to look at me. The news was broadcasting on the radio KHJ. We looked at each other, and then I walked to her and hugged her. We both cried for a long time. We did not know the people that were lost, the families that suffered. But we knew that the world would never be the same. And it wasn't.
We are lucky to experience Obama's stay in office. I hope that with him, we will see things change for the better.
