Two down. One and a half to go...

Jun 14, 2004 17:45

Essay things, that is. I remembered, just as Ewan was drifting off to sleep last night, that I have to do a two page reflective essay about Out of the Chrysalis, and how it came about. I'm sorry I swore so loud, Ewan, I really am...

But yes. Chrysalis is in a complete first-draft form. Now to plead for everyone's feedback....
*pleads* Read and tell me? )

I will read the masterwork later.
S-J is off to canada in the morning and I don't want to spend heaps of time on the computer tonight.

You would be a cool housemate if we had room! At the moment we're struggling to fit our stuff into the apartment with just the two of us!
Gah!

*hugs you*

Ah, well, I can understand the spending time with S-J thing...

*blushes* I dunno about cool housemate. I'm not terribly tidy! But, yes, I would definitely make an effort. How many rooms does your apartment have, anyway?

*hugs you back!*

Plus: look! New icon(s)!

2 bedrooms.
Livin/dining area.
Kitchen.
Balcony.

No room! :(

But you can come visit.

The ohusewarming is after exams and you're invited.
Can you email me your postal address so I can send you an invite (will forget to bring it to the exam, I can tell).

Wow it's great! I don't think you need to change it much at all; the only place it seemed to jar for me is when you are describing the sex with Mark - 'fucking, dog-like thrusting, grunting, eyes glazed and distant...' When you say 'fucking' I assume you mean the noun having sex as opposed to the adjective. I can't really pinpoint exactly why it doesn't seem to fit, but I would be tempted to cut it and stick in another adjective to describe the thrusting e.g. brutal ( ... )

*blushgrin* Aww, thanks! I'm glad you can relate.

And yes, Lori's meant to be overreacting - if she hadn't been, she wouldn't've outed Jen, for starters. Plus, she's not perfect. I made sure of that.

Thanks again!

I like your fic. You've captured the fear of 'oh crap - what now' very well. You have a good dialogue flow (I suck at that - hehe - so am very envious!!)
Yay!

*blushglowgrin* Thanks! I was worried the second half might be too... I dunno, stilted. I haven't actually written conflict/fight-scenes before. Not for a creative piece, anyway.

Just hope my tutor agrees with you!

And yes, dialogue has always been my strong point. Though, as my tutor pointed out, this can lead to an almost sit-com feel. *sigh* Not what I was aiming for, but...

Still, v. glad you liked it. And flattered, since I think you're actually the better writer...

"In the clouds of heaven, they make love. On earth, they have sex. In hell, they fuck." - Jack
That's pretty much all I gotta say about your lil' piece. It's pretty good all up.

*shudder shudder, twitch twitch* Urk. Moderating forums. Been there, done that, not doing it ever again. It's like having sex in an uncomfortable place. Sure, there's some sort of esoteric reward, but there's a damn lot of work involved in it, and you end up wondering if that is all there is to it, and eventually leave.

*grumbles* What is it with everybody else getting better cocktail recipes than me?

Uh, thanks... I think. That was a vote of confidence, yes?

Yeah, well, fortunately, I'm not the one doing the moderating. And right now, I'm of the "Sucks to be you" attitude towards Rachel. Everything she's going through at the moment, she's brought on herself. Pity she then feels she has to take it out on me...

I dont think I do the same...

And you cocktail recipe wasn't bad, so stop bitching!

Yeah, vote of confidence.

*shrugs* Eventually, everybody feels the need to blame somebody else.

bitch bitch bitch, whine whine whine. That's me. :þ
