So I tried to respond to some of my friend journals and Mr. Live Journal was all like, "ooh, I'm sorry, there's something you still have to do

i think you have to verify your account. Live Journal sends you an e-mail when you sign up and there is a link that you have to click on in the e-mail that verifies your account. That might be the problem.
