ICal sync problem

Jan 03, 2013 12:15

If I put an item in my iCal calendar on my Mac Book Pro and sync with my iPhone, that works fine. However, if I put the item in my iPhone calendar and then sync it doesn't go into my iCcal on my laptop. Anyone any idea what the problem is?

I have an iPhone 4S and am using Mac Os 10.5.8 on my laptop.

Could it have something to do with which Calendar is selected to sync on each device? That's the first place I would look. Are you using iCloud OTA or just connecting via cable / iTunes?

It is the only calendar I sync with, and I'm not using iCloud. I sync via USB.

Okay so typically iCal comes with two default calendars within it: Home and Work. You've erased one of them I presume, from what you wrote above? So there's only ONE calendar when you check the calendar list?

And that ONE calendar is the ONLY calendar selected to sync when you look in iTunes when syncing iPhone (under "Info") tab? That's what I'm asking, not sure from your reply if we're talking about the same thing. And that one calendar is the only one available when you look in iPhone -> Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Default Calendar?

If all those are correct up there, that's all I can think of without seeing your setup in person. Good luck.

Ah, no, sorry I misunderstood. I have the one calendar but have different subcalendars within it in different colours, including work, home, calendar and some personalised ones. Within iTunes I have it set to sync all calendars.

There is also a problem I have discovered the other way in that the work ones on iCal are not being transferred to teh iPhone when I sync.
