Chapter 1
Chinen struggled to open the door to his room. It was hard while carrying a girl, but he managed.
He went straight to his bed and carefully laid her down.
He realized there was already a blood stain on his jacket. He ignored that. He quickly went to his bathroom, took his first aid kit, and returned back beside the bed.
He cautiously moved her so he could treat her wound. There was a gash on her upper back.
Chinen winced. That must hurt.
A flash of the girl with her wings came to mind. He shook his head. He shouldn't think about that at the moment. He needs to tend to her wound.
She was wearing a dress with a low back so he could easily access the wound.
He first cleaned the wound with soap and water. Then he flushed it with hydrogen peroxide. She flinched at the first touch and Chinen retract the cotton. When she had relaxed once more, he started his ministrations again, this time more cautiously.
After cleaning the wound, he carefully dabbed it with ointment and finished by covering it with bandaid.
Chinen smiled, proud of his work. He then arranged the kit and returned it to his medicine closet.
He had returned with a blanket and a shirt of his own.
He stopped in front of the bed and smiled as he saw her sleeping peacefully.
He placed the blanket on the bed first and then went near her.
She was wearing a white sleeveless dress with a low back. 'She muist be cold.'
He bend over her and carefully slipped his baggy shirt over her dress. She must have been in deep sleep because she didn't even stir. Chinen then, returned to the blanket and placed it over her.
He let out a chukle when he caught her smile and snuggle more into the blanket.
She was really beautiful.

Chinen felt someone move.
'Is it time already?' He thought, groggily.
He opened his eyes and slowly sat up. Wait, why was he sleeping on a chair?
It was bright. It was already morning.
He caught a glimpse of his bed and everything that has happened went back to him.
He abruptly stood up and went to her.
She was already awake. She was peeking at him through the blanket. He could only see her eyes.
"Are you feeling well?" Chinen asked her.
She slowly nodded.
"Yokatta~" He said in relief and then smiled at her.
That seemed to make her relax. She pulled the blanket down a bit. Now he could see her whole face.
"What's your name?" Chinen asked.
The girl didn't reply at once. It was as if she was thinking.
And then she said, "U-Umika..."
Chinen's eyes widen but then she suddenly clutched at her head.
"Are you okay??" He asked.
The girl nodded but again, she flinched and her hand automatically went to her head.
"You're not okay." Chinen said. "Wait, I'll get some medicine." He said and he rushed to get medicine.
He was back within a minute, holding the medicine and a glass of water.
"Here, drink this." He said, giving her the medicine.
She looked at it curiously.
"Drink it. It'll help the headache." Chinen urged.
She did so. But she had placed the medicine on her tongue and she had grimaced at the bitter taste. Chinen hastily gave her the glass of water.
"Drink!" He said.
She did without second thought.
Chinen sighed and then let out a chuckle.
Umika, who was still grimacing a second ago, smiled at his laugh.
"What's your name?" She asked in a small voice.
"Oh, sorry. My name is Chinen Yuri." He said. "I found you in the alley just across the street. You were hurt so I took you in. When you're feeling well enough, I can accompany you to your home. Where do you live?"
Umika didn't reply at once.
She was staring off into nothing.
And then slowly, she looked at him. Chinen saw the fear in her eyes.
"I... I can't remember..."
