Chapter 6
Laughters.
Two girls were laughing heartily. One chasing after the other.
"Umika-chan!!" Uki called out, both annoyed and amused. Umika had messed up Uki's wings and now it was the color yellow.
Suddenly, Umika stopped.
Surprised, Uki moved closer to her. She was looking at something.
"Umika-chan?"
"Look, Uki-chan!" Umika said, pointing at some sort of a gazebo.
Uki looked. It was the first time they had come to that side of the Garden.
Umika moved closer and touched the gates. It opened.
"Umika!" Uki called, aghast. "Umika, don't! We're off-limits here. This is for the Second Choir!" Uki said.
"But Uki-chan, there's my name there! And it's glowing..." She said, looking like she was transfixed. She was pointing at a crystal ball. There were racks of them there, but she was pointing at the one in the second shelf.
"I don't see anything glowing!" Uki said, desperately.
She stepped inside the gate.
Uki gasped and worriedly watched her.
Umika went straight to the second shelf, slacked-jawed.
Uki watched as she raised a hand and cautiously touched it.
And then Umika froze.
Umika's eyes widen, images were flowing inside her.
An image of a boy.
A boy who is somehow familiar.
He was smiling, though he looked scared.
"Don't worry. Don't worry, I'll protect you! Don't cry anymore, Umi-chan..."
He was talking to her...
The little boy looked around, thinking fast. Everything was in flame. They were surrounded, they had nowhere to go.
"There! Let's go there!" The boy said, pointing.
He held her hand and the two of them ran forward towards the bathroom.
The boy closed the door.
"What will we do?" Umika asked in fear.
The little boy suddenly took the pail of water and soaked his whole body.
"I'll go get help. Stay here, you'll be safe here. I'll come back for you, I promise." he said.
Though still scared, Umika felt reassured. "I believe you, Yuri-kun."
Little Yuri ran across the fire shouting for help, until Umika couldn't see or hear him anymore.
Umika waited and waited.
She started having difficult in breathing but still, she waited.
She was feeling a bit numb. But she held on, still waiting for Yuri.
And finally everything went black and she couldn't feel fear or pain anymore.
Another vision.
It was Yuri. He was crying desperately.
"We're sorry son, we were too late." An unknown man said. He was carrying a little girl's body.
The girl's body were spotless except for a little singed in her clothes. But other than that, she could just have been sleeping.
"No." Yuri said. "Please sir, please hurry and get her to the hospital! Please!" Yuri said.
"Son, it's too late..." The man said gently.
"No!" Yuri insisted. "Please just get her to the hospital!! I beg you!"
Umika gasped and she was back.
'This is how I came to be in this place...' she realized.
And an image of the boy.
"Yuri..."
For the coming times, Umika had only thought about Yuri.
Uki had told her to forget about it. They weren't supposed to remember their lives as mortals. Her other friend, Ryunosuke, echoes this. She knew they were right of course, but Umika just can't forget.
Umika had went to Yui then. She was of the Principalities. The head of the Third Choir, tasked to watch over the mortal world directly.
She had shown her her Celestial Mirror, where she watch the world.
She had let her use it, saying that in no time, Umika would also be one of the Principalities.
She had used it to look at Yuri.
He was all grown up now. He looked very different from the Yuri in her memory.
She had watched and watched. She wanted to meet him again, especially when she discovered that he was still carrying guilt over what had happened.
And then, temptation had come to test her.
One day, one of the Powers have left his key to the Gate.
Umika was very tempted to use it, but she knew it would be selfish of her.
She had left the key there, not trusting herself to resist once she held it.
But after a while of thinking, she had come back to retrieve it and to give it to the Second Choir ,at least.
But it was already gone.
She had thought that the Power who had left it might have already took it.
But then suddenly the Bell rang.
The Gate was being opened.
Umika had went to the Gate then, she was very near there.
She had found another Angel, in her hand, she held the key.
She had opened the Gate. She was after going down the earth.
Umika, not really thinking, had ran to her to stop her. She was surely to become a fallen angel.
She had grabbed hold of her and tried to yank her back inside the Gate.
They struggled but in the end, Umika had managed to get her back inside, but in the process, she had accidentally stepped out the Gate.
She had fallen from the Gates of heaven.

-there are many references to the Bible. The 'Gate', the 'Garden' and some other things.
*explanation of the ninefold celestial hierarchy in Christianity:
There are nine distinct orders of angels within three major headings known as choirs.
First Choir is the highest in the ranking, under it are the Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones. The First Choir are said to be the closest to God. Second Choir are the one managing the Third Choir's tasked. That's why in the story, the 'Angel's memory as mortals' are found in the Second Choir's quarters. Under Second Choir are the Dominations, Virtues and Powers. Powers are also mentioned in the story. They are the ones in charged of the Souls. So in the story, I implied that at least some of them have their own 'Key' to the 'Gate.' (Doubt it, but the story needs it). The Third Choir is the lowest in ranking and they're the ones that interact with mortals the most. Under this are the Principalities, the ones in charged of watching as I have mentioned, and then the Archangels and the Angels. Angels are the lowest rank in the hierarchy.

btw, Haruma, Shougo and Miki are also Powers since Powers are responsible of maintaining the border between Heaven and Earth.
PS.
'Fallen Angels' are already considered as demons (Satan is a fallen angel, he was the angel of music, thus the Illuminatis.) So in the story, it wasn't the will of Umika to go to the mortal world.
