I would love me a fic where Castiel is actually hurt/in need of care. BUT: I don't want his hurt to be the focus of the story (well, duh!) but I'd like it if we saw Dean worrying, trying to comfort Cas, trying to help him.
There would ideally be a lot of Dean guilt - especially taking into account what Hester said, and what Dean figured out himself about angels breaking if they start to care. Plus, everything would be more difficult for Dean because a) he knows practically nothing about how Purgatory works, b) his source of information (Cas) is still mentally unstable and unreliable, not to mention hurt, c) things are preying on Dean and Cas and, maybe d) the situation is made more difficult cause Cas, even though indisposed, keeps disappearing.
So, please, a lot of worried Dean guilting over and trying to make up for ruining Cas' "life" from the moment he laid hands on him
Oh, no romantic involvement between the two please.
IDK, bb! This feels like a hurt!Cas prompt to me. You're not alone with wanting some hurt!Cas, so I've put out some feelers to see if anybody's doing something with Cas and purgatory, like a meme or something. I'll let you know if I find anything! ♥
Nonono! I don't want hurt!Cas! That'd just be the setting so to speak. In fact, if I see a fic with hurt!Cas I won't even read it. I don't like stories focussing on Cas. What I want out of this fic is the emotional hurt on Dean's side. I don't want to worry about Cas. I want to worry about Dean worrying about Cas. Does this sound more like it?

;_; DEAN.
By which I mean, seconded. And maybe Dean's guilt starts becoming self-destructive, and Cas realizes what's happening and there is feverish!Cas pinning Dean down and telling him exactly what is not Dean's fault.
Oh, yes: I've been thinking the same thing. And trying to remember whether Dean actually promised Cas nothing would happen to them, or just implied it to convince him to come along. Either way, there's so much potential for GUILT.
