Ok... after some cookies, water and walking several times around the room seems I've cleared my mind enough to write a proper recap... anyways there's tons of squeeing, caps locked and over all fangirliness (does that word even exist? *shrugs*) So here it goes:
* On a stormy sea of moving emotion, tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean
First I'll start with the opening (duh!) Can I just say I love they used Carry on my wayward son? I mean I think all of us KNEW they were going to use that song but still when I heard it and saw all of the boys flashbacks from this last season it just made me emotional... This was just the right song to put people in the mood for the ep =) It also felt kind of home to listen to it... as something that no matter how many fights and rants are in the fandom, it kind of unites us all equally, it brings us together and makes us remember why we love the show so much. I could just ramble on how much I love this song for hours so I better go to the next point.
I must also say I loved how they kinda stopped the music as they repeated the scene in which Dean quotes John and tells Sam not to come back if he walks through that door and then just bam! Sam closes the door just as the music ends. I think it was brilliant... of of the many commentaries of the special effects of the ep you'll be seeing XP
* Let kingdom come, blah blah blah
This scene really creeps me out... seriously. I've seen this same actor is several other series and thought of him to be a lame actor *shrugs* he always played minor roles and normally of people who are too intelligent (to the point they end up badly) or too silly *shrugs* but he just nailed this part. It also creeps me how he entered the church so easily... despite Meg had already done it in s1 it still freaks me how demons don't seem to have much boundaries and of how powerful they'll get as things get more difficult for the boys. OMG! Lucifer's lock is on that church!! =O You know for some reason I always thought they'd made him rise on Kansas *shrugs* partly because the boys were born there and so many chosen kids (as it appears on "In the beginning" ) are from there and the fact that there are so many legends on the Devil's Gates being there. Azazel... wow that was something I didn't expect at all. You know I've always wondered why Azazel's eyes were yellow? I mean ALL the crossroad demon's have their eyes red... ALL regular demons had their eyes black... I always thought that ranked demons (like Azazel... Lilith or Alistair) would have their eyes all in different colors... you know to prove how they were the mightiest as they aren't exactly demons but fallen angels. I really wonder why Alistair and Lilith have their eyes white and Azazel doesn't.
* May I say I ADORE how they made Sam's close up... kind of blury at first and slowly clearing up as we got closer to his face... as I was saying good effects!
* I can feel it inside me, Ruby. I've changed, for good, and there's no going back now [...] Dean's better off as far away from me as possible
And there goes my heart smashed into pieces. It really broke me, after all the fights and punches back in that motel room Sam is finally coming to realize that Dean was right all along... he's terrified of what's inside him, but now he's also scared he might hurt Dean and maybe not see him again in order to apologize for all that happened =(
* Dean's scene started up just as Sam's did!! Besides the great technical work I must say I loved it... cause even when the boys were apart this kind of scene kind of put them together, bringing them into light the same way, and they were both really distracted, probably thinking about each other. I made them feel close no matter how far they were.
* Sam never wanted a part in this family, he hated this life, for all I know. Ran away to Stanford the first chance he got... It's like deja vu all over again. Well I am sick and tired of chasing him. Screw him, he can do all he wants [...] Sam's gone, he's gone. I'm not even sure he's still my brother anymore, if he ever was
Dean is clearly hurt... and by his words it's also easy to tell he's still holds resentment for Sam ever leaving him to go to Stanford. Dean knew it was the right thing for him and didn't say a thing but I think it still hurt him. And now watching Sam leaving him again just broke back old feelings and made him feel sad, but mostly alone and abandoned. Again.
* You stupid, stupid, son of a bitch. Well boo boo I'm sorry your feelings are hurt, Princess. Are you under the impression that families are supposed to make you feel good? Make you an apple pie maybe? They're supposed to make you miserable. That's why they are family
First of all, I must say I found it hilarious how Dean is always related to apple pie and Kripke even managed to include it in this really tense moment XD Now, I totally agree with Bobby, I don't think that families are supposed to make us miserable... but they sometimes do. Just because we love them. We may find ourselves in a situation where we get hurt or offended by a stranger or just someone we don't give a damn about and we really don't care; but when someone from your family does the exact same thing we feel hurt, empty, as if we'd just been stabbed on the back. What's the difference? Love. The more you love, the more you bleed.
I also agree with Bobby when he says Dean is a much better man that John ever was. I love John, but seriously I'm not sure the way he treated his boys as they grew up was just the best way to act, and the same as they grew up. I think that he let his grief guide him and by the time it passed he just found out he didn't know how to be a father anymore... not because he didn't love his boys, but because they had just grown on their own right before his eyes. John was good but he let his emotions guide him too much... while Dean is more patient. I'm not saying Dean is cool and John isn't... they both are great men, but John didn't know how to communicate with others, or share feelings as Dean does.
The only thing that I found weird about this ep was the fact that Bobby appeared for so little time. I guess it was mostly because of the plot... it would have been kind of difficult to get him in but they did a marvelous job at this scene and Bobby did play an important role in this ep.
* It's almost time
The angels abducted Dean =O
* No matter how many times I hear it, I still find it gross that Lilith feeds on babies. But Sammy comes to the rescue.
* Ok, seriously, the angels have Dean on a elegant room, with bacon burgers, beer and even offered him women? C'mon! lol I think this scene really shows us how Dean has matured during the seasons... I think that if they would have offered him this (not to stop the apocalypse or anything, but just the room with the food and the women and stuff) he would have doubted a little and finally accepted it. Now he said no to all of this. He didn't even eat!! =O Impressive.
* Suite Life of Zach and Cas
Dean Winchester I love you and I want to mary you right now!! ♥♥♥
* Sam's exorcising abilities... =O he's definitely improving. I liked how Sam doubted once the demon let the girl take care of the body. Means he's not as lost as he said he was, he still knows what's good, he's still Sammy.
* This is me. Look I'll just get right to it. I'm still pissed. And I owe you a serious beat down... But I shouldn't have said what I said. I'm not Dad. We're brothers you know... we're family
Dean's message to Sam. I just loved how he finally give in to his feelings and decided to call Sam. I loved how one of them was finally open with the other. He's pissed of course but mostly the emotion guiding him at the time is love. I just wished Sam would have heard that message.
* Now can someone tell me what the heck does Lucifer tells Azazel to do?? look for a what kinda child?
* Dean being caught by Castiel after he broke the angel statue XD how adorable was that?
* I'm starting to think Dean was right [...] about everything!
I think that even though the last talk between the boys wasn't the most peaceful of all and after they didn't end up in good terms I think it does help Sam see things from Dean's perspective. And now he's really realizing what Dean had been warning him about all along.
* WHY CAN'T I SEE SAM! and how am I going to stop Lilith?
You are not
I think this was probably the one revelation of the episode I didn't expect... I always thought there were good and bad angels but I would have never guessed that all of them were up for the Apocalypse =O Dean feels impotent as he just waits there for the world to end and his brother to die... not being able to tell anyone. Dean's eyes filled with tears and his pain is almost palpable. I must really put my hands up to Jen... he did such an awesome performance through this ep ♥♥
* You'll stop it, just not Lilith and the Apocalypse
Wich means...
Lucifer
HA! And there goes my theory!! *does the chicken dance* Ever since season 2's Houses of the Holy I've been saying Dean has had a greater destiny and that he was going to be some kind of Archangel Michael version and there it goes! he IS the only one who can stop Lucifer =D so I was right!! YES!! I thought they probably gave us several signs... but the clearest one was the one in Houses of the Holy... where they go to church to ask for all these people who claim to be seeing angels and while Sam talks to the father Dean walks away and stands up right in front of a Saint Michael Archangel fighting Lucifer art on the wall =) and they turned the camera from Dean's face to Saint Michael for a couple of seconds. I just thought they gave it too much importance to be just a normal thing.
* I loved the effect of Dean hitting Cas. The kind of steel sound. Cas face turning exactly 90 degrees and keeping his normal expression while Dean was in pain lol Awesome!
* You can take your peace and shove it up your lily-white ass. Cause I'd take pain and guilt, I'll even take Sam as he is [...] You were going to help me once, weren't you? you were going to warn me when they dragged you back to bible camp. Help me now, please [...] If there's anything worth dying for, this is it. You spineless... souless, son of a bitch. You don't care about dying you are already dead. We are done!
Dean is seriously pissed at Cas. He knows Cas knows this is wrong and is still doing it. So he's mad at him for not being able to do what he knows is right.
* I loved how Sam decided to check Dean's voice message before taking the decision to drink that girl's blood. I just show how much he still values Dean's opinion and thoughts, despite the fact they are now separate.
* Castielllll!! ♥♥♥ OMG! I'm loving this man angel so damn much!! He knows he'll get in trouble... he knows he disobeyed but still is willing to do the right thing and help Dean.
* Also what knife did he use to cut himself?? that was Ruby's knife? it could kill angels, too? NOW I'm confused.
* I found it hilarious how Chuck knew the world was ending and decided to spend his last day with twenty women XD ♥ I'm just worried for Chuck and Cas... hopefully nothing NOTHING!°! will happen to them ♥ they are too awesome =) And the look on Cas' face as Chuck put his hand on his shoulder XD priceless!
* Sam gets to Lilith... noooooooooooo Sam no!!
* Dean arrives but Ruby shuts the door!
* I just loved how the whole sound seemed to change as Sam fought Lilith. How everything went mute except for his own heartbeats and then Dean's voice appeared. Beautiful scene. Then Lilith got his attention once again and Sam's eyes turned black! and then he killed her. You know this was something I KNEW would happen but still was shocked when it did. Sam's powers are really... wow!
* Ruby's revelation. I must say I never suspected from season 3 Ruby, but season 4 Ruby made me really suspicious... she was just different with Sam. More seductive and pushing him to take a lot of decisions. She took advantage of those months Dean had been gone to really brainwash Sam. I really must admit she did one hell of a job... the boys couldn't do anything and Sammy never suspected of her. Seems SHE was the most loyal servant after all.
* The boys killed Ruby. What I enjoyed the most... besides the fact that the one who had dragged Sam all the way down to demon lane died is the fact that the boys killed her together.
* I'm sorry. I don't think this were enough words to describe the feelings both boys were experiencing at the time. Maybe they couldn't see it, but it was easy for anyone who was watching the episode to see that the boys are really sorry for everything they said to each other and are just ready to get together once again.
* Does anyone else found it adorable that they held each other as soon as the lock began to open ♥♥ Love is back!! =D
All I can say is I loved this season finale. I think it was the perfect ep to wrap up the season. And I CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON FIVE!!!
