Good lord, I love Germany. I may have to move here when I'm done with university. It's such a lovely place! So much to do, everyone's so friendly, so on and so forth.
It'll be christmas (or past) when most of you get this. Actually, for most of you, it's christmas now, although I'd be surprised if you're awake. I hope you enjoy it, and everything that goes with it. Even if it's just eating, and an end to christmas carols on repeat.
It looks like my christmas will be white, even if just with the odd frost here that stays all day. But my god, it'll be a proper christmas. Kiwi christmasses are rubbish in comparison.
so yes. What have I done since I last wrote.
Been to salzburg, which was amazing. Such an impressive cathedral, such an incomprehensible ballet, such an utter ignorance of the sound of music.
been sledding twice, which is great fun, and I'm getting better at it. but such a lot of walking up hill for such a little bit of going down. And it reminds me so much of calvin and hobbes (the comic). i also had the off thought that "Morgen ist Weihnachten, und es gibt schnee in meine Hose" (tomorrow is christmas, and I have snow in my pants). very strange, for someone from the southern hemisphere.
We also went cross country skiing today. Its...different from normal skiing, not least in that I'm crap at it. I managed to avoid breaking anything, so all's good.
ice skating is something I was equally crap at, but managed to fall down a lot less, by grabbing onto Freddy and Linda. and I was apparentky so crap that a random old man came up and taught me technique. The kindness of strangers is a wonderful thing.
So yes. I hope you all're enjoying your holiday,
Tchues!
EDIT: I'm sorry, I got very confused. the first day of christmas celebration here is the twenty fourth, and I consistently think vier (four) is five. So yes. I'm sorry.
