I went to the supermarket after MB practice for some frozen rock n roll french fries when I saw this child acting out. He was about two or three and from what I heard wanted a juice boxy from the corner store. The mother didn't even give the child fair warning before she popped him soundly and continued on her merry way ( Read more... )

So... The worst thing about child beating is that the parents might get caught? And the best way to get a child to behave is to make it fucking afraid of you?

The worst thing about child beating is that it is the physical, psychological, and emotional abuse of a child, not that it causes people to get all a fluster and "waste your time" (which I don't see how it would, anyway). I agree that there is a difference between beating a child and giving a child a swat or a spank and that sometimes people can overreact to shit that isn't their business, but beating is never justified, even if the kid is "bad".

Kids who misbehave should get punished, yes. And parents stupid and cruel enough to beat their children deserves all the unpleasantness they get.
