I had the same thought about Morgana -- that if she weren't supposed to be the same person as S1 Morgana, I would be thoroughly enjoying her now. But at some point in this ep, I was enjoying her so much that I just said, fuck it, I don't care anymore if it makes no sense.

HUGGING. OMG.

I loved bitchy Merlin running his mouth at everyone. I'm really curious whether all his snarky remarks were meant to be Morgana's thoughts or Merlin's own subconscious coming out without any filter of love or friendship (or common sense).

I think he likes the knights -- but maybe he was trying to throw them off and distract them by upsetting them?

HUGGING. OMG THE HUGGING.

I really loved Arthur punishing Merlin with George. Arthur was so pleased with himself -- and YES, I totally loved that he was still confiding in Merlin so sweetly even while sending him off for his punishment. And I got the sense a few times that Merlin is still kind of feeling out this new emotionally open Arthur, but that he's really loving what he's finding.

I think I may have to just embrace evil doppelganger!Morgana as a character in her own right, because she is a lot of fun.

HUGGING :D :D :D

Hmm, I hadn't thought about where exactly the snarky remarks were coming from, but that's a good point. I shall have to ponder.

Arthur just looked so happy all through that scene! (Also hot as fuck with his slouch and his feet up like that, but, you know.) And yeah, Merlin often seems a little bewildered when Arthur's being nice to him without the mask of banter, but definitely in a good way. Hopefully this means Merlin'll start opening up a bit more, too...

i got the feeling merlin's frustrated by everyone thinking he isn't as powerful as the knights, so this is his chance to show off to them. especially since he does need to protect himself from them as they would seriously try and kill or capture him.

not that i was really paying attention past the hugging.

The hugging was really the most important thing. :D

Hmm, yeah, I suppose maybe he just didn't have a chance to come up with a different escape plan, and that was just the easiest way out.

The hugging was lovely, and so was Arthur's honest expression of affection, and his inability to keep a straight face in the last scene.

I loved Merlin's sly "Why don't you just replace me, then?"

Lovely stuff!

You are so right, Bradley gets more beautiful every year.
