So this is the first opportunity I've had since the SSHG reveal to publicly thank the ever-awesome Ayerf for her take on my prompt.  In Loco Parentis is a gem indeed, so wry and well-written I even carved out time to re-read it post twins!  Thank you, Ayerf, and thanks to all who made the Exchange so fabulous.
